PhD Student, Public Health Genetics 
Orietta Agasaro is a PhD student with a background in global health, biology and neuroscience, having earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience & Biology from Baldwin Wallace University and a Master of Science in Global Health Delivery from the University of Global Health Equity. She is passionate about investigating population diversity and genetic determinants of infectious and non-infectious diseases in Rwanda and across Africa.
Orietta's primary academic interests include genetic epidemiology, infectious diseases, and human genetic determinants of viral diseases. Her ultimate goal is to become an academic researcher with a primary focus on research conducted in Africa, contributing to the understanding of the genetic factors influencing health in African populations.
